FAQs

Information Accuracy
The information, descriptions and opinions regarding the accommodations, national parks, animal sighting, itineraries, security and gorilla permits have been given in good faith based on information available to us at this point in time. Care has been taken to ensure that the information is updated and accurate. We cannot accept any liability or responsibility for any omissions or errors cause by matters beyond our control. 

Transportation
Nsavi Safaris ensures to offer our clients with 4×4 Land cruisers Jeeps or tourism mini-van intended for the rough African roads. We always make sure the vehicles are in a road worthy condition. Despite this, punctures, breakdowns, damage or any other delay can occur due to poor road conditions that are out of our control.

Accommodations
Nsavi Safaris offers a range of accommodations options such as luxury, mid-range, budget and camping. The accommodations indicated in the itineraries are not conclusive; it is just a proposal subject to your decision unless a specific accommodation is requested. We reserve the right to substitute with the equivalent or a superior one without compromising the quality of the tour.

Note: Our prices are based on two people sharing a double or a twin-bed room. For those who prefer single rooms a single room surcharge is added

Safari Quote includes
Fuel & Transportation in Good condition 4*4 Land cruiser Vehicle with pop up roof, each vehicle has a medical aid box, a mineral water, a professional and Experienced English speaking Guide, all activities as indicated in the program, accommodation and meal plan as indicated, entry cost to all parks mentioned in the itinerary and all relevant government tax.

Note: should an Italian, German, Spanish, French be required, we are ready to provide at an extra fee.

Safari Quote Excludes
International Flights, visa fees, International Travel insurance, any Optional activities or those not included in the program, Tips, souvenirs, any soft/ alcoholic drinks and any personal purchases

Insurance
We recommend all clients to have travel insurance to be insured against any case of sickness or other personal reasons for cancellation while on tour and must be obtained before departure. Nsavi Safaris offers our clients medical evacuation coverage (not medical insurance) for a fee. Kindly speak to our representative regarding this.

Travel Documents
It is the responsibility of the client to be in possession of a valid passport, visa, relevant vaccinations certificates such as Yellow Fever , any/other relevant medical certificates.  

Note: Nsavi Safaris does not accept any responsibility for changes in regulations for visas costs, liability, and or damages arising out of any such delays experienced by the client.

Dietary Requirements
At the time of booking please communicate to our representative your specific dietary requirements so that we can inform the respective lodges. This also applies to any other special requirements and medical requirements while on tour.

Baggage Allowance
We recommend that you carry soft bags or duffle bags while on tour. You are restricted to a minimum of 15-20kg on ground movements and 15kgs on domestic flights. Any extra baggage especially on any domestic flight will be charged.

Adjustments after booking
Please be advised that once you have finalized, booked, and paid in full for any of Nsavi Safaris products and or services, changes will only be accepted on your written advice. We will make every effort to accommodate the changes subject to availability and other or extra charges will be charged to the client.

Note: Changes in dates for gorilla and chimpanzee trekking are subject to availability. We recommend that you make the adjustments atleast a month to the tour otherwise the permits will be lost and you may need to pay again.

Modification/ Alteration of the itinerary
Nsavi Safaris reserves the right to make adjustments in the itinerary  where seems fit due to any unforeseen circumstances which include but are not limited to the following: changes in airline schedules, reduced cooperation by a particular lodge, closure of roads and bad weather, security conditions. You will of course be informed about any changes as soon as possible Note: For cases of vehicle breakdown that is beyond the Nsavi Safaris’ control and/or immediate repair, we will arrange to have a replacement vehicle in the fastest possible manner

During the safari
The animals in the parks are wild so no guarantees can be given for good sightings during game drives or trekking, but rangers and our guides will do their very best to make sure you get a great experience. Nsavi Safaris reserves the right to refuse any client behaving in a way that can cause danger/inconvenience to any third party, damage to property, environments or ecosystems to continue the trip. In such a case no refunds will be made and Nsavi Safaris will not be liable for expenses occurring due to termination.

Payments and Cancellations
A booking is considered confirmed when Nsavi Safaris sends written confirmation to the client/agent confirming the booking. Invoices are issued on booking confirmation.

  • Safari Rates:
  • The cost or rates of our safaris are in US dollars. The costs are appropriate for the duration of the safari booked. In case of any changes in the current exchange rates, remarkable fluctuation, or government taxes, we shall inform you in time.

  • Means of payment
  • Payment can be done through bank transfer and credit card payments for international travelers to our account in Uganda. The client should always remember to include the bank transfer fee/charges or surcharge on credit card while doing transaction. We also accept payment in cash and cheques for non-international travelers and this is paid directly to our office.

    Note: In exchange of US dollars, the notes should not be older than the year 2006

  • Deposit:
  • A deposit of 50% of the total amount price of your holiday including 100% on gorilla permits fees ( Gorilla and chimp permits are to be secured right away and these are non-refundable)

  •  Final Payment:
    The remaining balance of 50% of total payment is to be completed atleast 40 Days to your trip. Please keep in mind that if you haven’t submitted payment by the due date, Nsavi Safaris has the right to cancel your booking. For bookings made within 30 days of the tour departure date, 100% payment is required.

  • Cancellation Policy:
  • You can cancel your tour at any time prior to departure. The date of receipt is the decisive factor for our cancellation policy. Kindly declare any cancellation in written form. For cancellation of the travel contract prior to departure as well as any cases of no-show on the tour, the following cancellation charges are asserted:

    • 40 days and above: 20% of the tour price is held as cancellation
    • 39 to 22 days: 30% of the tour price is held as cancellation

    • 21 to 15 days: 50% of the tour price is held as cancellation

    • Up to 14 days: 80% of the tour price is held as cancellation

    • 5 to  0 days : 100% of the tour price is held as cancellation
    Note: Gorilla permits are excluded from percentages above and are 100% non-refundable

    Complaints

    Any issues that occur during the safari should be reported immediately to the reservations team and the guide and we’ll do our best to resolve it. If an issue has not been solved to the client’s satisfaction a written complaint should be e-mailed to us no later than 30 days after finishing the safari to enable us investigate and act on the complaint.

    Liability

    Nsavi Safaris cannot accept liability or pay compensation for unforeseen circumstances that are beyond our control. This includes flight delays/cancellations, war/threat of war, riots, civil unrest, terrorist attacks, border closure, acts of the government, strikes, thefts, epidemic, road closure, natural disasters, extreme weather conditions, fire, technical/mechanical problems to transport due to bad roads and similar events beyond the company’s control.

    Force Majeure

    If the particular booking under this contract becomes illegal or impossible to perform by either party due to acts of God, war, terrorist act, disaster, strikes, civil disorder, health pandemic or other comparable unforeseeable emergency, this contract may be terminated for anyone or more of such reasons by written notice from one party to the other. At the time the party may choose to be refunded or can select a future travel date to take place when permissible on the same terms and conditions of the original booking but only when and deposit or full payment has been made on the original booking. Note: Non-guaranteed bookings will be required to pay the prevailing tour rate for the amended future date in case there are any changes.

    Jurisdiction

    Nsavi Safaris is incorporated in Uganda and therefore operates under the Uganda Laws. Law suit All Clients who book our services agree to release Nsavi Safaris and its affiliates from liability for risks associated with voluntary participation in a tour in remote geographical areas. These include but not limited to any injury, damage or loss including consequential loss to any client or their possessions, personal injury, disease or death while on safari.
